RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in need of a Remote NJ, NY, NE Medical Malpractice Claims Examiner. The candidate must reside in New England, NJ or NY states.
Responsibilities:
* Manage and investigate complex claims to determine coverage, liability, damages, and resolution strategies
* Collaborate with insured parties, legal counsel, claimants, and other stakeholders throughout the claims process
* Develop action plans, conduct investigations, and evaluate case exposure and risk
* Partner with defense counsel to support litigation, settlement negotiations, mediations, arbitrations, and trials
* Monitor claim activity, reserves, expenses, and legal costs to ensure effective case management
* Provide recommendations on claim resolution strategies based on investigation findings
* Communicate claim status, findings, and risk assessments to stakeholders
* Support clients throughout the claim lifecycle while ensuring high-quality service and outcomes
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
* 3+ years of claims management, insurance litigation, or related claims experience
* Experience investigating, evaluating, and resolving complex liability claims
* Knowledge of litigation processes, legal procedures, settlement negotiations, and dispute resolution
* Ability to assess liability, damages, risk exposure, and claim value
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
* Experience working with attorneys, clients, and external partners
* Ability to manage multiple cases and priorities in a fast-paced environment
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
