We are looking for a hands-on API Integration Engineer to design, build, and maintain integrations between our existing applications/workflows and external third-party systems. The ideal candidate is comfortable working across the full integration lifecycle from understanding API documentation, to building and testing connections, to troubleshooting issues in production and brings solid scripting/automation skills to streamline repetitive integration tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain integrations between internal applications/workflows and external systems using REST APIs
Work with JSON-based request/response payloads, including parsing, transforming, and mapping data between systems
Implement and manage various API authentication methods (API keys, OAuth 2.0, tokens, basic auth, etc.)
Handle request/response cycles, including pagination, rate limiting, retries, and timeouts
Build robust error handling logic to gracefully manage failed calls, malformed data, and downstream system issues
Troubleshoot and resolve integration failures, latency issues, and data mismatches across systems
Write and maintain Python (or similar scripting language) scripts to support integration logic, automation, and data processing tasks
Monitor integration health and proactively identify/resolve recurring issues
Document integration workflows, authentication flows, and troubleshooting runbooks
Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, product, operations) and external vendors to define integration requirements
Support and improve existing integrations as APIs evolve or business needs change
