Key Responsibilities:Westinghouse is looking for a
Commercial Grade Dedication (CGD) Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support
AP1000 new build projects. You will be a technical leader, providing oversight, review, and governance of supplier CGD programs.
You will ensure commercial-grade items used in safety-related applications meet design, regulatory, and quality requirements. You will focus on approval of supplier CGD programs-not performing dedication.
- Be the Design Authority SME for CGD across AP1000 projects
- Determine safety function and critical characteristics using design documentation
- Review supplier CGD procedures, plans, and methodologies
- Evaluate technical adequacy of item determinations, critical characteristics, and methods
- Ensure compliance with 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR Part 21, and EPRI guidance
- Resolve technical gaps, risks, and nonconformances
- Work with suppliers, EPC partners, and engineering teams
- Integrate CGD requirements into design, procurement, and construction processes
- Develop guidance, training, and best practices
Qualifications- B.S. in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Nuclear, Civil, or related)
- 15+ years of nuclear industry experience
- Expertise in CGD and procurement engineering
- Knowledge of 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR Part 21, nuclear QA, and EPRI CGD guidance
- Experience reviewing or governing supplier CGD programs
- AP1000 or new build / EPC project experience
- Background in Design Authority or engineering oversight roles
- NRC audit/inspection experience
- PE license or advanced degree
Level determined by experience (Senior, Principal, or Lead Engineer).
