Location: Salt Lake City, UT (Partial Remote)
Role Overview
We are seeking experienced Data Governance Analysts to support enterprise-wide data governance initiatives within a large and complex healthcare data environment. In this role, you will partner with business and technical stakeholders to implement governance practices, strengthen data stewardship, improve metadata management, and drive adoption of data governance standards across the organization. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-visibility initiatives that support enterprise data strategy, data quality, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation and ongoing execution of enterprise data governance programs and initiatives.
- Facilitate collaboration between business stakeholders, data stewards, domain leaders, and technical teams to drive governance adoption and alignment.
- Coordinate data stewardship activities and support governance processes across multiple business domains and data products.
- Create, maintain, and enhance business metadata, glossary terms, data definitions, data ownership documentation, and governance artifacts.
- Support enterprise data catalog and metadata management initiatives.
- Conduct governance assessments and assist with onboarding new data assets into established governance frameworks.
- Promote adoption of data governance policies, standards, and best practices across the organization.
- Support data quality monitoring efforts, issue management processes, and governance controls.
- Gather, document, and analyze business requirements related to governance initiatives and data management processes.
- Track governance deliverables, project milestones, risks, and dependencies across multiple concurrent initiatives.
- Develop status reports, executive presentations, process documentation, and governance communications.
- Support governance training, workshops, and stakeholder enablement activities.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience implementing, supporting, or managing Data Governance programs.
- Strong experience facilitating meetings and driving engagement across cross-functional stakeholder groups.
- Demonstrated business analysis, process documentation, and requirements gathering expertise.
- Experience with metadata management, data cataloging, data stewardship, or broader data management initiatives.
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Microsoft Teams.
- Intermediate proficiency with Jira.
- Basic to Intermediate SQL skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Healthcare industry experience.
- Experience with Collibra or a comparable Data Governance platform.
- Knowledge of data quality management frameworks and best practices.
- Experience supporting enterprise data catalog, business glossary, metadata, or stewardship programs.
- Familiarity with data architecture, analytics, business intelligence, or modern data platform environments.
- Experience with Visio or similar diagramming tools.
Work Environment
Work is primarily performed in an office environment. Local or out-of-state travel may be required.
