Job Title: Vehicle Dynamics CAE Engineer
Department: Chassis Engineering / Vehicle Integration & Simulation
Focus Area: Multibody Dynamics, Ride & Handling, Loads Cascade, CAE-to-Test Correlation
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Vehicle Dynamics CAE Engineer to lead the virtual development, simulation, and optimization of vehicle dynamics performance for our autonomous ride-hailing platform. In this role, you will build high-fidelity multibody models to refine ride quality, handling, vehicle stability, and active safety performance-delivering a smooth, controllable autonomous ride that inspires occupant trust.
Working cross-functionally within a fast-paced hardware development environment, you will partner closely with Chassis, NVH, Loads, Vehicle Controls, and Integration teams, as well as external supplier partners, to correlate simulation models against physical testing and establish target performance metrics.
Key Responsibilities
-
Multibody Modeling & Simulation: Develop, maintain, and refine high-fidelity vehicle dynamics models using MSC Adams, IPG CarMaker, and MATLAB/Simulink.
-
Loads Generation & Cascade: Generate suspension, full-vehicle, and powertrain (PWT) load cases according to established engineering processes to support structural and component design.
-
Supplier & Component Collaboration: Partner with chassis design teams and tier-1 supplier partners to evaluate and optimize component-level performance for ride and handling.
-
CAE-to-Test Correlation: Design and execute physical test plans to correlate simulation results with real-world vehicle and subsystem measurements, continuously improving model accuracy and predictive capability.
-
Attribute Balancing & Controls Support: Collaborate with Vehicle Integration and Software Controls teams to balance ride, handling, NVH, and stability attributes with software control algorithms.
-
Active Safety & Target Setting: Establish key vehicle dynamics metrics and support active safety development and validation to ensure full compliance with automotive industry standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
-
Education: Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
-
Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience in vehicle dynamics performance development, chassis CAE, and physical vehicle testing.
-
CAE Software Mastery: Proven proficiency with MSC Adams, IPG CarMaker, and MATLAB/Simulink.
-
CAE-to-Test Correlation: Strong background in setting up physical test protocols, processing field/rig data, and correlating physical test data back to multibody simulation models.
-
Chassis & Loads Expertise: Deep understanding of suspension kinematics and compliance (K&C), full-vehicle loads cascade, steering dynamics, and active safety systems.
-
Analytical & Collaborative Skills: Exceptional analytical problem-solving skills with a track record of driving cross-functional alignment between software, hardware, and integration engineering teams.
