We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer with strong expertise in Palo Alto Networks firewalls, network security, and large-scale network migration projects. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience designing, implementing, troubleshooting, and migrating enterprise network and security infrastructure.
This is a fully onsite position in San Jose, CA, and candidates must be comfortable working onsite throughout the engagement.
Design, configure, implement, and support enterprise network infrastructure.
Lead and execute Palo Alto firewall migrations, upgrades, and technology refresh projects.
Plan and perform migrations from legacy firewalls to Palo Alto Networks platforms.
Develop detailed migration plans, implementation procedures, rollback plans, and network documentation.
Configure and manage Palo Alto firewalls, security policies, NAT, VPN, routing, and security profiles.
Perform network discovery and analyze existing network and firewall configurations prior to migration.
Troubleshoot complex network connectivity, routing, firewall, and security issues.
Work with cross-functional teams to coordinate migration activities and minimize service disruption.
Validate network connectivity and application functionality following migrations.
Monitor network performance and proactively identify and resolve infrastructure issues.
Maintain accurate network diagrams, configuration documentation, and operational procedures.
Participate in maintenance windows, cutovers, and post-migration validation.
Provide technical guidance and support to network and security teams.
15+ years of experience in Network Engineering or a related field.
Strong hands-on experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls.
Proven experience with firewall migration and network migration projects.
Experience with Palo Alto PAN-OS, Panorama, security policies, NAT, VPN, and routing.
Strong understanding of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, LAN/WAN, DNS, DHCP, and network troubleshooting.
Experience with enterprise routing and switching technologies.
Hands-on experience troubleshooting complex network and firewall issues.
Ability to develop and execute detailed migration and rollback plans.
Strong documentation and communication skills.
Experience working in enterprise environments with complex network infrastructure.
