The facility operates a highly technical semiconductor fabrication environment where engineering, research, and manufacturing teams collaborate to develop and produce advanced technologies. We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to support semiconductor manufacturing operations within a high-technology wafer fabrication facility.
The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and improving sophisticated electro-mechanical manufacturing equipment. This role will work closely with equipment engineers, process engineers, operators, and external equipment suppliers to support both production and research & development activities.
Maintain and repair sophisticated semiconductor manufacturing and R&D equipment.
Perform preventive maintenance and emergency repairs in a manufacturing environment.
Troubleshoot complex electro-mechanical equipment and systems.
Work with equipment that may involve high vacuum, sub-micron precision, advanced imaging, specialized chemicals, and RF technologies.
Collaborate closely with process engineers and manufacturing operators.
Support both volume production and research & development process activities.
Assist with the retirement and removal of legacy manufacturing equipment.
Install and commission new process equipment.
Develop and maintain written maintenance and repair procedures.
Develop preventive maintenance procedures and determine spare-parts requirements.
Work with equipment suppliers to source spare parts and coordinate service visits.
Assist with equipment upgrades, hardware improvements, and automation projects.
Support continuous improvement of equipment reliability and manufacturing processes.
Maintain accurate technical documentation and communicate equipment issues effectively.
5+ years of experience maintaining manufacturing equipment or other complex technical systems preferred.
Strong electro-mechanical troubleshooting and repair capabilities.
Ability to independently diagnose and resolve complex technical problems.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office and standard engineering practices.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced technical environment.
Ability and willingness to learn new technologies and manufacturing processes.
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
Candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas are highly preferred:
Semiconductor equipment maintenance.
Semiconductor fabrication or wafer-fab environments.
Complex manufacturing hardware.
Electronics or electro-mechanical systems.
Military electronics training.
High-vacuum technology.
Semiconductor deposition processes.
Etching technologies.
RF sources and related equipment.
Equipment installation and commissioning.
Preventive maintenance program development.
Spare-parts planning and inventory requirements.
Hardware upgrades and automation projects.
Cross-functional experience involving mechanics, electronics, materials science, and software engineering.
Associate’s Degree in Electronics, Engineering Technology, Electromechanical Technology, or a related technical field preferred.
Bachelor’s degree is a plus.
Equivalent military electronics training or significant hands-on electro-mechanical experience may also be considered.
This is an onsite night-shift position within a highly technical semiconductor manufacturing environment. The successful candidate should be comfortable working around sophisticated manufacturing equipment and learning advanced technologies and processes.
