Job Description:We are seeking a highly experienced Chief Systems Engineer to serve as the senior technical authority and trusted advisor to our network operations and engineering teams and customer leadership.
This role requires a blend of strategic vision and hands-on engineering expertise, ensuring successful execution of enterprise operations, modernization efforts, and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate is able to operate at both the architectural and tactical levels-guiding strategy, validating approaches through direct engineering engagement, directing engineering changes and driving technical excellence across the program.
Responsibilities:
- Architect and design scalable, secure voice, video, wireless, and data networks and associated network management systems
- Lead creation of High-Level and Low-Level Designs (HLD/LLD)
- Deploy and integrate Cisco enterprise and data center technologies
- Configure and support advanced routing and switching technologies including BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, VXLAN, and EVPN
- Act as the primary technical advisor to customer leadership
- Develop and maintain the enterprise technical strategy and modernization roadmap
- Lead architectural reviews, technical decision-making boards, and risk assessments
- Evaluate and recommend technologies to enhance reliability, security, scalability, and operational efficiency or meet customer new requirements
- Drive modernization, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Validate technical approaches through hands-on analysis, engineering reviews, and proof-of-concept work
- Partner with operations teams to enhance service delivery and technical execution
- Lead root cause analysis for complex, enterprise-level issues
- Mentor engineering and operations staff and elevate technical standards across the program
- Align technology investments with mission priorities and stakeholder objectives
Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field. Experience may be substituted for education.
- Minimum 10 years of enterprise IT engineering and architecture experience.
- Design and architect scalable, secure voice, video, wireless, and data communication networks
- Lead development of high-level and low-level network designs (HLD/LLD)
- Deploy and integrate Cisco-based enterprise and data center solutions
- Configure and support advanced technologies including BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, VXLAN, and EVPN
- Strong knowledge of network monitoring and management systems such as Cisco Catalyst Center, SolarWinds, and similar.

The likely salary range for this position is $170,000 - $230,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
