About the team
The Tax Calculation team owns the core engine at the heart of Amazon\'s Tax Services: the platform that determines and calculates the correct indirect tax and regulatory fees for every transaction Amazon processes, across 20+ marketplaces and billions of
calculations each year. When a customer checks out, a seller remits, or a vendor is invoiced, our product is what ensures the tax is accurate, compliant, and processable, in milliseconds and at global scale.
We work at the intersection of technology, tax law, and customer experience. That means partnering closely with engineering to build a scalable, resilient platform; with Tax Planning and Legal to translate complex and constantly changing legislation into
system behavior; and with business teams across Amazon to unblock new products, marketplaces, and business models. Our charter spans everything from calculation accuracy and jurisdiction determination to platform simplification, new charge models, and
enabling emerging businesses to launch compliantly anywhere in the world.
We are a team that values ownership, bias for action, and simplifying hard problems. The tax landscape is accelerating, our systems are evolving to meet it, and there is significant room to shape both the product and the architecture. If you want high-
visibility work with direct impact on how one of the world\'s largest collectors of indirect taxes operates, this is the team.
