Position SummaryWe are seeking a technically sharp and client-facing
Broadcast IT Support Engineer to join a tight-knit 5-person support team maintaining the operational backbone of NBC Sports Group's infrastructure. In this role, you will provide hands-on desktop, studio production, and networking support-interfacing directly with all levels of the business to troubleshoot critical technical issues under pressure. Whether based on-site at production facilities or deployed to domestic and international sporting venues, you will ensure seamless technology execution across broadcast, IT, and networking environments.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain the operational status of NBC Sports Group's infrastructure, providing 24/7/365 on-site technical support and occasional on-location travel.
- Deliver Tier 1 and Tier 2 desktop support, local application troubleshooting, and issue resolution for networks, local servers, printers, remote access, and file shares.
- Travel to support on-location live broadcast sporting events both domestically and internationally.
- Analyze, segment, isolate, and resolve client service requests or escalate to specialized teams when requirements exceed scope.
- Learn fundamental operations of specialized departmental software, hardware, and broadcast systems.
- Adhere to standard operating procedures and accurately log all incidents using enterprise tracking software.
- Apply solid working knowledge of networking concepts-including TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, routing, switching, and firewalls-to diagnose connectivity breakdowns.
Qualifications & Requirements- Experience: 2 to 4 years of applicable IT helpdesk, desktop support, or studio production technical experience within a fast-paced environment (broadcast/media industry experience supporting NFL/NBA coverage is strongly preferred).
- Technical Foundation: High-level proficiency with Apple OS X and Microsoft Windows (desktop/server environments); Linux/Unix experience is a distinct plus.
- Networking & Systems: Working knowledge of core networking protocols and infrastructure (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, LAN/WAN, switching, and routing).
- Soft Skills & Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills with an outgoing, friendly presence capable of building rapport with all levels of business stakeholders. Must be able to remain calm, professional, and composed under high-pressure live broadcast environments.
- Credentials: Valid U.S. driver's license required; a valid passport is preferred to support international travel.
- Education: Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from an accredited four-year institution, or an equivalent combination of education and hands-on technical experience.
