We are looking for a Senior Scala Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable, reliable software applications and data-processing systems. The ideal candidate has strong programming fundamentals and experience building backend services, APIs, and distributed systems using Scala.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain applications using Scala.
- Build scalable backend services, APIs, and distributed applications.
- Work with databases, messaging systems, and cloud platforms.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
- Troubleshoot performance, reliability, and production issues.
- Collaborate with software engineers, architects, DevOps, data engineers, and product teams.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical design decisions.
- Develop automated unit, integration, and performance tests.
- Monitor and improve application performance and reliability.
- Follow software engineering best practices for security, CI/CD, and version control.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years as a software engineer in Scala
- Strong functional programming concepts.
- Experience with JVM technologies and Java.
- Strong in REST APIs and microservices
- Strong in Apache Spark
- Strong in Kafka
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with SQL and relational or NoSQL databases
- Familiarity with Akka, Cats, ZIO, Play Framework, or similar Scala technologies.
- Familiarity with Git and CI/CD tools.
- Experience with distributed systems and cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
