Role Overview
This organization is seeking a skilled Automation Test Engineer to join the Information Technology team. The successful candidate will design, develop, and execute automated test suites to ensure high-quality software delivery. This position offers a hybrid work structure with a primary location preference in Tampa, or secondary options in the Jersey City and Boston areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute expertise in the application of different software development and testing methodologies, tools, and technologies.
- Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated tests across the delivery lifecycle.
- Contribute to the design and enhancement of the automation framework.
- Maintain traceability from user stories through test cases to automated scripts.
- Identify dependencies, define, and communicate environmental and data requirements.
- Research and evaluate technical solutions consistent with organizational technology standards.
- Align risk and control processes into day-to-day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk.
- Partner with team members to understand software requirements and design automated tests that validate functionality while considering privacy and security requirements.
- Create applications and construct unit test cases that ensure compliance with functional requirements.
- Work with peers to mature ways of working to implement and maintain continuous testing within the software delivery processes and integrate automated tests with CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams on development, testing, troubleshooting, and overall software quality improvement.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline is preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in software testing, test automation, or Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) roles.
Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in test automation frameworks and tools such as Selenium, TestNG, JUnit, or Jasmine. Advanced hands-on experience with SQL, database testing, and ETL testing and automation. Proficiency with Java, Python, or JavaScript for automation and scripting, alongside front-end and back-end testing experience using Java and Selenium. Solid understanding of smoke, functional, regression, and non-black box testing techniques.
Tools & Platforms: Practical experience with AWS cloud services. Proficiency with JIRA, Microfocus ALM, Bitbucket, Git, and Jenkins, alongside a strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing integration.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience testing Business Intelligence platforms such as Power BI or AWS QuickSight.
- Familiarity with Snowflake data warehouse environments.
- Familiarity with performance and security testing concepts.
