Aptask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking an Associate Scientist - Onsite for a position with a Global Biotechnology Company located in Thousand Oaks, CA. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. The ideal candidate is an early-career scientist with a relevant bachelor's degree and solid hands-on research experience who is comfortable spending the majority of their time working at the bench. This role will support ongoing programs by designing and performing in vitro and in vivo pharmacology studies, generating and analyzing data, and maintaining detailed records. The position requires strong experience with mammalian cell culture, in vitro pharmacology, and plate-based assays.
Responsibilities: - Follow established experimental design and protocols to generate reproducible and reliable results with limited supervision
- Plan, conduct, analyze, and record experiments, and provide interpretation of data
- Perform experiments, organize data, and analyze results
- Design and perform in vitro & in vivo pharmacology studies to support ongoing programs
- Review literature to identify and effectively transfer experimental methods to the lab and make modifications as necessary
- Develop and implement new protocols to address biological questions
- Engage coworkers in scientific discussions and communicate data/interpretation to program teams
- Effectively troubleshoot equipment and experimental difficulties
- Contribute to internal/external reports, papers, presentations, and regulatory documents
- Follow best practices in ELN entry, data recording, safety, and compliance
Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related life sciences discipline and 2 years of experience OR an Associate's degree and 4 years of experience
- Experience with in vitro pharmacology
- Knowledge of molecular biology
- Experience with mammalian cell cultures
- Skilled and knowledgeable in the use of standard laboratory equipment
Desired skills: - Hands-on experience with in vivo and in vitro pharmacology skills; capable of independently designing, implementing, and analyzing studies
- Technical mastery of general molecular biology and cell-signaling analysis techniques including immunoblotting, immunocytochemistry, RT-qPCR, immunoprecipitation, and ELISA
- In vivo or small-animal experience
Pay range: up to $28.85per hour
