Summary

Aptask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking a QA/QC Program Engineer V for an Onsite position with an Information Technology company located in Montgomery, AL. This is a 3 month contract opportunity.

This role is responsible for ensuring quality assurance and quality control on a large-scale telecommunications project. The engineer will conduct inspections, manage documentation, and report on contractor adherence to specifications related to structured cabling, fiber optics, and network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in construction quality management and telecommunications standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Report periodically on contractor adherence to auditing best practices
  • Coordinate, schedule, and present at weekly project-level and monthly program-level QAQC meetings
  • Manage key milestones, including pre-meetings, site walks, and inspections for approval
  • Issue a weekly QA/QC status report with meeting minutes, analytics, and a prioritized issues log
  • Deliver the final Project QA/QC Closeout Report
  • Request, review, and work to the latest applicable project specifications and maintain a record of all specifications followed
  • Perform monthly specification audits and escalate misalignments
  • Support Owner Furnished Contractor Installed (OFCI) equipment management
  • Conduct continuous, independent visual inspections of ongoing connectivity work
  • Log every deficiency in the quality management platform and track to resolution
  • Verify contractor test equipment compliance and witness testing spot checks
  • Execute inspections using the QAQC platform, complete checklists, and obtain signatures
  • Review and formally verify field closeout documentation before handover
  • Provide oversight and validation of Division 27 network audits (Device, Circuit, and Network Quality)
  • Confirm certified, calibrated, and approved test equipment and validate test results

Requirements:
  • Minimum five (5) years of telecommunications experience, with documentation available for verification
  • Working knowledge of structured cabling, pathways, fiber and copper testing, and telecom specifications (Divisions 01, 07, 27)
  • Demonstrated ability to read and inspect against specifications, submittals, and shop drawings
  • Experience with construction quality management platforms (Autodesk Construction Cloud preferred)
  • Strong coordination skills, high attention to detail, and proven ability to proactively identify and manage risk
  • Clear written and verbal reporting skills, including presenting status to owner representatives

Desired skills:
  • Data center or other mission-critical facility connectivity installation experience
  • Familiarity with network audit practices: device/circuit/quality audits, BERT thresholds, optics health, FEC and CRC error analysis
  • Fiber inspection and certification standards experience (e.g., IEC 61300-3-3); OTDR/OLTS certification
  • Experience acting as an owner's independent representative on large construction programs

Pay range: $104.21 - $114.21 per hour
