Job Description
Fibertek is seeking motivated summer interns who are ready to kick start their career and build real-world experience in optics labs. As the Optical Engineering Intern, you will be responsible with incoming inspection, implementation, and minor characterization of optical assemblies.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:- Cleaning and assembly of optical components.
- Testing of laser parameters.
- Perform modeling when applicable in Zemax, Paraxia, Matlab, etc.
- Learn companies' manufacturing, quality, and laboratory processes.
Job Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:- U.S. Citizen.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas.
- Self-directed and able to work without supervision.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements/Demands- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Prolonged periods of working in laboratory and moving equipment
- General office environment, no special physical demands required. Some lifting and/or moving up to 15 pounds required.
Salary Range: The base salary range for this position is $20-$25/hour. This range reflects the compensation Fibertek reasonably expects to offer for this role. Placement within the range will depend on factors such as the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's experience, education and training, key skills, and relevant market and business considerations.
