Summary

A forward-thinking technology organization is looking for a Cloud QA Engineer to support the delivery of high-quality, scalable applications within a modern cloud environment. This contract role, based in Canada (hybrid model), focuses on test automation and quality engineering across distributed systems, APIs, and user-facing applications.

This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys building automation from the ground up and working closely with engineering teams in a fast-paced, agile setting. You'll play a key role in shaping how quality is embedded into the development lifecycle, gaining exposure to cloud-native architectures, CI/CD pipelines, and emerging testing strategies. The team is looking for someone who is detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to take ownership of testing initiatives while continuing to grow technically.

Contract Duration: 6 Months
Required Skills & Experience

3-6+ years of experience in software testing with a strong focus on automation
Hands-on experience developing automated test suites for UI, API, and integration testing
Proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript for test scripting and automation frameworks
Experience working with modern testing tools for browser and cross-platform automation
Background testing applications hosted in cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform)
Strong understanding of API validation and microservices-based systems
Familiarity with source control systems and collaborative development workflows
Experience working in Agile or Scrum-based delivery teams

Desired Skills & Experience

Exposure to containerized environments and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
Experience with performance or load testing practices and tools
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests into build workflows
Knowledge of test reporting, monitoring, and quality metrics
Experience with behavior-driven development frameworks or similar approaches
Awareness of observability concepts such as logging, metrics, and tracing
Exposure to event-driven systems or distributed architecture testing
