A financial services organization in Virginia is seeking a Senior Azure Cloud & GitHub Platform Engineer to join their team in Vienna. This hybrid role focuses on designing, securing, automating, and supporting enterprise environments on Azure, Kubernetes, and GitHub that enable reliable software delivery and cloud operations.
About the Opportunity:

Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, administer, and support Azure cloud platform services and enterprise workloads
- Manage AKS environments, including cluster provisioning, upgrades, patching, autoscaling, ingress, networking, observability, and workload security
- Implement identity and access management controls using Microsoft Entra ID, RBAC, managed identities, service principals, conditional access, and privileged access management
- Administer GitHub Enterprise platforms, including organizations, teams, repositories, branch protections, rulesets, security controls, and integrations
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automation workflows, infrastructure as code, and secure deployment practices across cloud and Kubernetes environments
- Support monitoring, logging, troubleshooting, incident response, documentation, and continuous improvement for cloud and developer platforms
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in cloud engineering, platform engineering, DevOps engineering, SRE, or a related technical discipline
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Engineering, or a related technical field
- Strong experience administering and supporting Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure Functions, Azure Service Bus, Azure Storage Accounts, Azure App Services, Azure Networking Services, and Azure Key Vault
- Strong expertise in identity and access management, including Microsoft Entra ID, RBAC, managed identities, service principals, conditional access, and privileged identity management.
- Extensive experience administering GitHub Enterprise environments
- Strong experience developing and supporting CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions
- Experience with GitHub Apps, OAuth integrations, OpenID Connect, self-hosted runners, and repository security controls
- Experience administering Kubernetes environments and containerized workloads
- Experience implementing infrastructure as code using Packer and ARM templates
- Experience with PowerShell, Bash, Python, and automation scripting.
- Strong understanding of cloud security, DevSecOps, CI/CD practices, enterprise governance, and software supply chain security
- Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability platforms
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to operate independently and provide technical leadership across multiple engineering teams

- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Administrator Associate, or Azure DevOps Engineer Expert
