Position Summary

The Contract IT Support Specialist provides hands-on technical support for computer hardware, end-user equipment, shipping and deployment activities, and basic IT administration within office and manufacturing areas. This role is responsible for preparing, configuring, installing, and maintaining computers and peripherals, as well as supporting the organization's day-to-day technology operations.

Location(s): 1 opening in Waltham, MA. 1 opening in Marlborough, MA. | Type: 6-month contract | Compensation: $33-$37/hr

Key Responsibilities

Provide site support for laptops, desktops, monitors, docking stations, printers, mobile devices, conferencing equipment, peripherals, and approved shop floor or office technology.
Support new hire, transfer, move, replacement, technology refresh, and separation activities, including device preparation, recovery, and accurate asset tracking.
Handle IT equipment shipping, receiving, packaging, tracking, and coordinating deliveries to employees and locations while maintaining accurate inventory of all IT assets.
Build, configure, image, and install desktop and laptop computers, monitors, printers, and other IT equipment.
Set up and deploy workstations, including monitors, docking stations, keyboards, mice, printers, and other accessories.
Assist with Active Directory/Microsoft 365 administration and other standard IT systems as needed.
Respond to help desk requests and provide timely, professional support to end users.
Coordinate with service desk, engineering, security, infrastructure, asset management, and other support teams to resolve issues and complete requests.
Maintain IT documentation, procedures, asset records, and equipment logs.
Assist with IT projects, office moves, technology upgrades, and other operational initiatives.
Follow company security, data protection, and IT policies when handling equipment and user information.
Deliver professional, customer focused support while balancing urgency, confidentiality, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

1 to 3 years of experience in IT support, desktop support, help desk, or a related technical role.
Experience building, configuring, deploying, and troubleshooting computers.
Basic understanding of Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365, networking, and common hardware.
Experience with shipping, receiving, inventory, or asset management is a plus.
Ability to safely lift and move computers, monitors, and other IT equipment as needed.
