Budget Analyst

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Budget Analyst to support financial planning, budget management, forecasting, and reporting activities. The ideal candidate will have strong financial analysis skills, advanced Excel proficiency, and experience managing budgets while ensuring accuracy, accountability, and compliance with organizational standards. An active SECRET security clearance is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, manage, monitor, and maintain departmental and project budgets in alignment with organizational goals.
Ensure financial accuracy, accountability, and compliance by following established quality management systems and processes.
Perform budget variance analysis, financial forecasting, and trend analysis to identify risks and opportunities.
Analyze financial data and provide actionable recommendations to support management decisions.
Prepare, consolidate, and present budget reports to senior management, highlighting key financial metrics, variances, and spending trends.
Monitor budget performance and recommend corrective actions to maintain financial targets.

Requirements

<>Required Skills

Minimum 6 years of experience in budget management, financial analysis, or related roles.
Bachelor's degree or 10 years of relevant professional experience in lieu of a degree.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial analysis, reporting, and complex spreadsheet management.
Must hold an active SECRET security clearance.

<>Preferred Skills

Experience with federal government budget formulation and execution.
Experience developing dashboards and financial reports using Microsoft Power BI.
