Position Summary
The Mid-Level Quality Control Analyst is a key member of the project team, responsible for scripting and executing test cases to ensure that products or services meet specified requirements. The analyst is involved in all testing phases, verifying quality through various testing activities within a single development environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow structured quality control and testing processes, including application, network, systems, integration, and user acceptance testing.
- Review business requirements and technical specifications for completeness and logical consistency; document findings.
- Participate in technical specification reviews.
- Translate business and technical requirements into detailed test cases, test scenarios, and scripts.
- Develop and implement reusable testing components.
- Execute test scripts, monitor testing outcomes, and document results.
- Assign severity levels to test issues discovered during testing.
- Capture, document, and track defects, testing metrics, and results.
- Maintain comprehensive quality control documentation.
- Contribute to and ensure adherence to requirements traceability matrices to support quality delivery.
- Verify that documented system requirements are fulfilled.
- Be willing to frequently travel and work outside standard hours, including riding trains and conducting testing across multiple geographical routes.
- Coordinate participation of other testers and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or an equivalent work experience.
- One to three years of experience in software and/or hardware quality control and testing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) and Agile frameworks.
- Experience with MS SharePoint 2010 and MS Office products.
