\n\nDesign Drafting is an exciting career at Johnson Controls. Our Design Drafters are partners to our engineering team and help us bring our designs to life. Our York location is hiring design drafters to provide full drafting responsibility from concept to customer shipment for our Custom Engineered Air Handlers. Their drawings provide specifications for sheet metal and structural steel fabrication in manufacturing plants. In this role you get to work on a variety of projects that range in both size and complexity. Your design sessions can take anywhere from 6 hours to 300 hours of detailing time, providing you with a sense of satisfaction when your designs are brought to life. How you will do it:
Utilization of CAD systems (Autocad and Inventor(Preferred), 2016 or higher) to develop design documentation in 2D and 3D environments.
Preparation of bills of material utilizing computerized BOM system
Knowledge of drafting room procedures such as retrieving and applying information from various purchasing and manufacturing specifications.
What we look for:
Candidates with four (4) years of related drafting and design work experience or an Associate degree in Engineering, Drafting, or related science with 2 years of experience will be considered. Previous experience as a CAD operator is required.
Must be very organized, able to work with strict deadlines, persistent in obtaining desired feedback from suppliers.
HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $28.18-$42.31 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) This position includes a competitive benefits package. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role.
