Tip of the Day

When writing your resume, remember an important point about job titles: standard is better. Don't go calling yourself a "ninja" when you mean "developer," or "business consultant, senior" when you mean "business analyst." Specialized or quirky titles are all well and good when you're talking to people inside your company, but when you're looking for work they can be confusing. So when you're putting together your resume, stick with labels that other employers are going to understand. No recruiter or manager will use a term like "ninja" when they're searching a resume database. And if your job title doesn't match their search, your resume is going to be passed by.
