job summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to develop foundational software components for advanced medical robotics and surgical technology applications. In this independent contributor role, you will research, analyze, design, implement, test, and maintain software components utilized across various clinical architectures, including specialized orthopedic surgery applications. You will work independently with minimal supervision, applying professional expertise to make evaluative judgments and improve system efficiency in a highly regulated environment.

responsibilities:
Develop source code for shared biomechanics and surgical planning components that integrate into established pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative clinical application architectures.
Participate in all Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) activities, including code review, documentation, integration, testing, defect management, and code analysis.
Ensure all software components are feature-complete, meeting rigorous requirements and design specifications.
Design, develop, test, debug, and implement operating systems components, software tools, and utilities.
Determine system software design requirements and ensure improvements are successfully implemented and monitored.
Generate systems software engineering policies, standards, and procedures.
qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (or equivalent practical experience) and a minimum of 2+ years of software engineering experience.
Solid background working with C++ and Qt in a Linux environment.
Experience working with 3D geometry and image processing algorithms involving complex 3D calculations.
Experience developing surgical planning systems or similar medical software is highly desired.
Proficiency with integrated development environments (IDEs) and build systems.
Experience working with revision control systems and following CI/CD development practices.
Familiarity with unit testing as an integral part of the development workflow.
High attention to detail with the ability to make evaluative judgments based on the analysis of factual information.
