Location: Memphis, TN or Dallas, TX (Hybrid)
Role Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Quality Engineering Manager to lead quality automation efforts for a Mobile Applications platform. This individual will be responsible for driving quality strategy, advancing automated testing practices, and partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality mobile products. This is a player-coach role for a candidate who enjoys leading teams while remaining actively involved in testing strategy, automation initiatives, and day-to-day delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor Quality Engineering resources supporting Mobile Applications.
- Define and influence quality automation strategy and testing best practices.
- Research, implement, and optimize advanced automated testing approaches.
- Partner closely with Development, DevOps, Product, Design, and QE teams.
- Drive the reduction of escaped defects and improve overall product quality.
- Track, analyze, and report on key quality metrics.
- Contribute hands-on to testing efforts when needed.
- Establish clear goals, expectations, and success measures for team members.
- Conduct performance reviews, coaching conversations, and talent development activities.
- Collaborate with QE Leadership to align platform deliverables with enterprise quality standards.
- Promote a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous learning.
Required Qualifications
Experience:- Five years of professional work experience in Technology, Software Engineering, QA, or a related field.
- Three years of professional experience in Quality Automation.
- Three years of people leadership, supervisory, or management experience, including conducting performance reviews.
- Hands-on Quality Assurance and Automated Testing experience.
- Strong knowledge of mobile application testing methodologies.
- Experience working in Agile development environments.
Technical Skills:- Expertise in quality automation frameworks and advanced automated testing strategies.
- Proficiency with testing methodologies including Snapshot, Functionality, API, Unit, and Component testing.
- Experience with Jira and Xray for test case management.
- Familiarity with Charles Proxy for use with native mobile applications.
- Knowledge of Git-based version control systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience testing iOS and Android applications.
- Understanding of the potential impact of AI on mobile technologies.
- Experience in large enterprise environments.
- Background leading geographically dispersed teams.
- Experience aligning QA practices with SDLC best practices and release management processes.
Work Environment
This position requires the ability to work in a hybrid model, with a presence onsite in the Memphis, TN or Dallas, TX office two to three days per week. Occasional travel of up to ten percent may be required.
