Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer / Programmer Analyst to support a Client. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Java development, SQL databases, Linux, and enterprise application support. This role involves designing, developing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and enhancing large-scale applications while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead coding, testing, debugging, and implementation of enterprise applications.
- Develop and maintain Java-based applications.
- Create technical documentation, flowcharts, and system diagrams.
- Analyze and optimize application performance.
- Design, develop, and maintain SQL database objects, packages, and triggers.
- Troubleshoot application issues by analyzing logs, system messages, connectivity, memory utilization, and disk performance.
- Coordinate software development activities across project teams.
- Develop programming standards, procedures, and best practices.
- Implement system enhancements and performance improvements.
- Create and maintain backup and recovery processes.
- Support production deployments and application maintenance.
- Collaborate with business and technical teams throughout the SDLC.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills
- 15+ years of hands-on Java development experience.
- 10+ years of SQL database development and programming experience.
- 8+ years supporting and developing large enterprise applications within a team environment.
- 5+ years of Linux experience.
- Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.
- Experience developing, maintaining, and supporting mission-critical applications.
Preferred Skills
- 8+ years working with Atlassian tools, especially JIRA.
- 8+ years working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Experience supporting State of Texas applications.
- Experience with the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) environment.
- Experience migrating applications from legacy mainframe platforms to Java/SQL environments.

- Strong enterprise Java development experience.
- Advanced SQL programming skills.

- Linux administration and troubleshooting experience.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
