Position: System Architect - Drupal
Location: Baltimore, MD
Duration: 6 Months+
THIS IS A HYBRID ROLE AT BALTIMORE / CHEVY CHASE , MD.
Strong differentiators
CMS or HHS Drupal programs, such as CMS.gov, Medicare.gov, or other CMS ADO Drupal applications. This is the single strongest boost.
Drupal integrated with enterprise identity: SSO, SAML, Okta, or CMS IDM and EPS.
Drupal–Salesforce integration, which ties the resume to Optional Task 7 and to the HNS past performance.
Certifications: Acquia Certified Drupal Architect or Grand Master, plus AWS Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional).
Section 508 and USWDS: experience building accessible Drupal front ends.
Must have
8–10+ years of Drupal/PHP experience, including recent experience architecting enterprise Drupal applications (Drupal 10/11), not just brochure sites. Look for custom module architecture, complex workflows, role-based access, and API and integration design.
Major Drupal upgrades or migrations, such as Drupal 7 to 10 or replatforming.
Database architecture for large Drupal applications: MySQL or PostgreSQL on RDS, performance tuning, and data modelling.
Hands-on AWS experience running Drupal in production: EKS or Kubernetes, EC2, RDS, and VPC, with containerized PHP using Docker, ideally on Alpine.
CI/CD for Drupal: Jenkins or GitHub pipelines, Composer and Drush-based deployments, configuration management in Git, and zero-downtime releases.
Federal security experience: FISMA, NIST 800-53, ATO support, and handling PII or PHI.
