Description
We are looking for a dependable PC Technician to support day-to-day technology needs in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This contract opportunity with potential for a permanent role is ideal for someone early in their IT career who enjoys hands-on computer work, stays organized, and is eager to build practical experience in a structured environment. The role focuses on preparing, deploying, and maintaining desktops and laptops while assisting with equipment setup and inventory tracking.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and configure desktop and laptop computers for end users, including imaging, setup, and domain connectivity.
Install, move, and connect hardware components such as monitors, peripherals, and cabling to support workstation readiness.
Provide hands-on assistance with new equipment rollouts, user setups, and general PC-related support tasks.
Track technology assets accurately and help maintain orderly records for assigned devices and equipment.
Troubleshoot common issues involving Windows-based systems, Microsoft Office applications, and basic hardware performance.
Support routine connectivity checks and assist with basic network equipment such as switches and routers when needed.
Work with both standard PC systems and Apple devices as part of broader endpoint support activities.
Collaborate with team members on deployment activities and other technical tasks while maintaining a positive, service-oriented approach.
Requirements
Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows 11 and basic familiarity with Windows Server environments.
Practical understanding of desktop and laptop hardware, including setup, replacement, and basic troubleshooting.
Experience with PC deployment tasks such as cloning systems, joining devices to a domain, and preparing machines for use.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office and the ability to support users with common application-related issues.
Basic exposure to network infrastructure, including switches, routers, and physical cable connections.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage equipment, prioritize tasks, and keep accurate asset records.
Reliable transportation is required for this role.
A detail-oriented attitude, willingness to learn, and the ability to work well with others in an entry-level IT support environment.
