Job Overview: The Data Engineer III focuses on the evaluation, design, and execution of data structures, processes, and logic to deliver business value through operational and analytical data assets. This role involves using advanced data design and technical skills to collaborate with business subject matter experts to create enterprise data assets utilizing state-of-the-art data techniques and tools.
Responsibilities: - Partner with technology teams to design, build, and maintain data-based structures and systems supporting data and analytics use cases.
- Develop data pipelines to collect, organize, and manage data storage in the organization's big data environment.
- Create robust, testable programs for moving, transforming, and loading data using big data tools such as Spark.
- Coordinate design and development with data product partners, data scientists, data management teams, data modelers, and other technical partners to construct strategic and tactical data stores.
- Ensure data is prepared, arranged, and ready for each defined business use case.
- Design and deploy frameworks and microservices to serve data assets to data consumers.
- Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to translate customer needs into data design requirements and deliver world-class visualizations and data stories while ensuring data quality and integrity.
- Provide consultation to all areas of the organization planning to use data for decision-making.
- Support team members in developing information delivery and automating data products.
- Act as a trusted advisor and partner to business leads, assisting in identifying business needs and data opportunities, understanding key performance drivers, and guiding the overall data and analytics strategy.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Business or a technical-related field.
- Eight (8) years of data-oriented experience, including managing data and analytics resources.
Preferences: - Prior experience in banking or financial services.
- Experience developing solutions for the financial services industry.
- Background in Big Data Engineering and Advanced Data Analytics.
Skills and Competencies: - Experience building data solutions at scale.
- Proficiency in designing and building relational data structures in multiple environments.
- Experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow, Argo, or Luigi.
- Knowledge of DevOps principles and CI/CD practices.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with No-SQL databases such as HBase, Cassandra, or MongoDB.
- Experience with streaming technologies like Kafka, Flink, or Spark Streaming.
- Proficiency in working with the Hadoop ecosystem to build data assets at an enterprise scale.
- Proven track record of delivering operational data solutions, including report and model-ready data assets.
- Significant experience working with senior executives to use data reporting and visualizations for strategic and operational decision-making.
- Strong ability to transform and integrate complex data from multiple sources into accessible, understandable, and usable data assets and frameworks.
- Experience in synthesizing data and analytics in a large, Fortune 500, complex, and highly regulated environment.
- Strong technical background, including database and business intelligence skills.
