M365 SharePoint Online Engineer
Location: Fully Onsite South Carolina
Position Overview
The consultant will work closely with the Server Team, business unit leaders, managers, and end users to develop secure, scalable, and user-friendly SharePoint Online solutions. The role will focus on SharePoint Online administration, SPFx development, Microsoft 365 integration, Power Automate, Entra ID, permissions, UI/UX, governance, and process automation.
The ideal candidate will be able to translate business requirements into effective SharePoint and Microsoft 365 solutions while maintaining security, governance, accessibility, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, administer, configure, and maintain SharePoint Online sites, subsites, site collections, hubs, libraries, and lists.
- Manage SharePoint Online permissions, security groups, advanced settings, and access controls using Microsoft Entra ID.
- Perform site and content permission audits and maintain appropriate Owner, Member, and Visitor access.
- Work with business units and site owners to enhance SharePoint functionality and user experience.
- Design and develop modern SharePoint intranet solutions, custom layouts, workflows, and automated business processes.
- Use SharePoint Framework (SPFx) to customize and integrate Microsoft 365 applications.
- Create and maintain Power Automate workflows and automation.
- Provide front-end support and troubleshooting for SharePoint Online end users.
- Provide training and knowledge transfer to end users and training teams.
- Monitor SharePoint usage reports and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Perform site cleanup, archival, and removal/decommissioning of unused sites.
- Manage SharePoint site quotas, storage, and file-size limitations.
- Implement and maintain SharePoint governance, taxonomy, metadata, and content management policies.
- Collaborate with other teams to integrate Microsoft 365 applications with SharePoint Online.
- Maintain detailed technical documentation, runbooks, architecture documentation, and configuration guides.
- Create architecture diagrams and technology navigation maps.
- Monitor the Microsoft 365 and SharePoint roadmap and implement relevant platform enhancements.
- Manage the SharePoint Online environment lifecycle, including provisioning, archival, and decommissioning.
- Plan and manage project milestones through successful completion.
- Provide regular project and technical status updates to the project team.
- Ensure solutions follow Microsoft SharePoint Online best practices for security, accessibility, scalability, and performance.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of experience supporting and developing SharePoint Online / Office 365 solutions.
- 5+ years of experience with SharePoint Framework (SPFx) development and customization.
- 5+ years of experience with front-end design, UI, and UX development.
- 5+ years of experience working with Microsoft 365, Microsoft Windows, hybrid infrastructure, advanced permissions, and Microsoft Entra ID.
- 5+ years of experience implementing SharePoint roadmap enhancements and changes.
- 5+ years of experience creating and maintaining Power Automate workflows and configurations.
- Strong understanding of SharePoint Online architecture, administration, and best practices.
- Experience creating technical documentation, configuration guides, and runbooks.
- Strong understanding of SharePoint permissions, security groups, and access management.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with data governance frameworks, data policies, and policy documentation.
- Strong understanding of business processes and process automation.
- Strong knowledge of PowerShell.
- Experience integrating multiple Microsoft 365 applications with SharePoint Online.
- Experience with SharePoint governance, taxonomy, metadata, and content management.
Education & Certifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical or business-related field.
- Equivalent professional experience may substitute for formal education.
Preferred Certifications:
- Microsoft Power Platform certifications.
- Microsoft 365 certifications.
