Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Data Management Business Analyst to join our Enterprise Data & Analytics Services (EDAS) team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in enterprise data analysis, data management, data governance, and source-to-target mapping and a proven ability to translate complex business needs into actionable data requirements and deliver scalable, governed data solutions across on-prem and cloud platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Engage stakeholders to elicit, analyze, document, and validate enterprise data requirements, including CDEs, business rules, data quality expectations, metadata, and lineage.
- Translate business needs into data specifications, source-to-target mappings, transformation logic, and consumption requirements for analytics, reporting, and operations.
- Perform data profiling, impact and gap analysis, root-cause analysis, and validation across multiple systems and platforms including Google Cloud Platform and BigQuery.
- Analyze and document end-to-end Data Supply Chain processes, integrations, and data movement, including review of Ab Initio graphs and ETL processes.
- Create and maintain current-state and future-state data flow diagrams, business process flows, and detailed mapping documentation.
- Support data lineage and traceability from source through analytics and operational layers, documenting control points and reconciliation processes.
- Partner with Data Engineers, Data Modelers, and Data Architects to align designs with enterprise standards and target architecture.
- Support Agile delivery through requirements clarification, testing support, UAT assistance, and implementation readiness.
- Advance Data Governance practices by defining CDEs, supporting stewardship, improving metadata, and documenting lineage in Alation.
- Prepare executive-ready presentations, impact assessments, status updates, and decision-support materials.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Advanced SQL and data analysis capabilities with strong analytical problem-solving skills.
- Deep understanding of relational databases, data warehousing, enterprise data architecture, and integration concepts.
- Proficiency creating source-to-target mappings, transformation specifications, business rules, and data flow documentation.
- Experience with data profiling, impact assessments, lineage analysis, validation, and data quality controls.
- Familiarity with metadata management and data governance practices, including CDE definition and stewardship.
- Experience with Jira and Confluence and strong facilitation and documentation skills.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Analytics, Data Management, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience level: 8+ years in Business Analysis, Data Analysis, Data Management, Integration, Governance, or Warehousing within large enterprises.
Preferred Skills:
- 10+ years supporting enterprise data initiatives in Financial Services or Banking.
- Experience with Enterprise Data Governance, Data Quality, Regulatory Data, and Data Risk programs, including CDE certification and lineage.
- Hands-on familiarity with Alation Data Catalog and documenting lineage, metadata, and business definitions.
- Experience reviewing Ab Initio data flows, integrations, and mappings.
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform and BigQuery and with cloud migration or modernization initiatives.
- Agile/Scrum delivery experience.
