Position: Google Cloud Platform Data Lead
Location: Charlotte, NC
Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Google Cloud Platform Data Lead with strong hands-on expertise in Big Data, Data Engineering, and Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform). The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing scalable data pipelines and event-processing solutions, supporting banking and Financial Crimes Compliance platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and optimize large-scale data pipelines using Google Cloud Platform and Big Data technologies.
Provide technical and engineering expertise to the team for developing banking features, particularly in Financial Crimes and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) platforms.
Build and maintain event-processing pipelines using Kafka or Google Cloud Platform Pub/Sub.
Develop scalable data processing and transformation solutions.
Optimize SQL queries, database systems, and data models for performance and scalability.
Improve engineering practices through automation, resilience, and continuous improvement.
Collaborate with product teams and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver technology-driven solutions.
Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and follow established SDLC methodologies.
Required Technical Skills:
Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform): BigQuery, Cloud Composer/Airflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub.
Big Data: Hadoop, Hive, Apache Spark.
Programming: Python, Shell Scripting, Object-Oriented Programming.
Data Engineering: Data Pipelines, Data Modeling, ETL/ELT, Large-Scale Data Processing.
Event Streaming: Apache Kafka, Google Cloud Platform Pub/Sub.
Database: Strong SQL and relational database concepts.
DevOps & CI/CD: Git, GitHub, Jenkins, XLR, Automated Testing Frameworks.
Strong understanding of distributed systems, algorithms, and design patterns.
Preferred Qualifications:
Google Cloud Platform Professional Data Engineer certification is a plus.
Experience in banking, Financial Crimes Compliance, or Anti-Money Laundering (AML) platforms.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
