Position: Google Cloud Platform Data Lead
Location: Charlotte, NC

Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Google Cloud Platform Data Lead with strong hands-on expertise in Big Data, Data Engineering, and Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform). The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing scalable data pipelines and event-processing solutions, supporting banking and Financial Crimes Compliance platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and optimize large-scale data pipelines using Google Cloud Platform and Big Data technologies.

  • Provide technical and engineering expertise to the team for developing banking features, particularly in Financial Crimes and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) platforms.

  • Build and maintain event-processing pipelines using Kafka or Google Cloud Platform Pub/Sub.

  • Develop scalable data processing and transformation solutions.

  • Optimize SQL queries, database systems, and data models for performance and scalability.

  • Improve engineering practices through automation, resilience, and continuous improvement.

  • Collaborate with product teams and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver technology-driven solutions.

  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and follow established SDLC methodologies.

Required Technical Skills:

  • Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform): BigQuery, Cloud Composer/Airflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub.

  • Big Data: Hadoop, Hive, Apache Spark.

  • Programming: Python, Shell Scripting, Object-Oriented Programming.

  • Data Engineering: Data Pipelines, Data Modeling, ETL/ELT, Large-Scale Data Processing.

  • Event Streaming: Apache Kafka, Google Cloud Platform Pub/Sub.

  • Database: Strong SQL and relational database concepts.

  • DevOps & CI/CD: Git, GitHub, Jenkins, XLR, Automated Testing Frameworks.

  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, algorithms, and design patterns.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Google Cloud Platform Professional Data Engineer certification is a plus.

  • Experience in banking, Financial Crimes Compliance, or Anti-Money Laundering (AML) platforms.

  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
