Role: Senior Data Analyst
W2 Contract: 12 months (Potential Extension)
Location: Hybrid in Chicago, IL
- 3-days in the office per week (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday)
- Monday & Friday remote
Overview:
Work with a leading energy enterprise within their corporate HR Reporting & Analytics team. As a Senior Data Analyst, you will play a crucial role in converting employee indicative and talent acquisition data into high-impact business insights. This position bridges technical data engineering and business strategy, supporting executive workforce planning, data ingestion initiatives, and ongoing analytics needs across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
o Read, write, and execute SQL queries to retrieve data, create reports, and conduct ad-hoc analyses.
o Design, build, and maintain functional Power BI dashboards following specific organizational design guidelines.
o Review, interpret, and make light edits to existing Python scripts performing ETL tasks and data cleanup.
o Translate complex metrics and analytics into clear, compelling narratives and actionable business outcomes for business leaders.
o Gather data requirements from non-technical stakeholders and translate them into sustainable reports, queries, or visual dashboards.
o Maintain strict data governance, security, and confidentiality standard when handling sensitive employee information.
Required Qualifications:
o 7 to 10 years of hands-on data analysis and reporting experience.
o Advanced technical proficiency in SQL for querying and reporting.
o Strong expertise in Power BI dashboard creation and data visualization.
o Experience with Python (ability to read, interpret, and adjust data types/logic in existing scripts).
o Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a proven track record of stakeholder management.
o Bachelor s Degree (BA/BS) in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
o Prior experience working within enterprise reporting environments.
o Familiarity with strategic workforce planning metrics, forecasting, or predictive modeling concepts.
