Job Description: Workday Administrator & Integrations Specialist
Location: Cincinnati, Ohio-Onsite
Employment Type: Full-Time
Key Responsibilities
1. Tenant Administration & System Optimization
Serve as the primary technical owner for Workday HCM, managing configuration across
Core HCM, Onboarding, and Time/Absence.
Maintain, test, and enhance Business Process Framework (BPF) configurations, condition
rules, and validation rules to support corporate and field branch operations.
Manage Workday security architecture: maintain role-based, user-based, and domain
security policies, ensuring compliance, data privacy, and audit readiness.
Lead the evaluation, regression testing, and deployment of Workday's semi-annual feature
releases (R1/R2) in partnership with HR stakeholders.
2. Integration Development & Operational Monitoring
Actively monitor, support, and troubleshoot scheduled integration runs, proactively
diagnosing interface failures, payload drops, and data discrepancies.
Maintain and build integrations using Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB), Core Connectors,
Document Transformation, and Workday Studio.
Support critical automated feeds connecting Workday to surrounding enterprise systems
(including our ATS, external time-tracking/dispatch systems, and downstream ERP engines).
Build and refine custom transformations (XSLT) and web services (SOAP/REST) to support
evolving data requirements between IT, HR, and Operations.
3. Managed Services Transition & Operational Excellence
Lead technical cutover and knowledge transfer from our incumbent Workday Managed
Services Provider (AMS).
Audit and document the current tenant footprint: inventory active integrations, runbooks,
credential rotations, and open technical debt.
Establish internal ticketing, change management, and environment promotion standards
(Sandbox/Preview to Production) to ensure system stability.
4. Reporting, Analytics & Data Integrity
Design, build, and maintain complex custom reports (Advanced, Matrix, Composite) and
calculated fields for HR leadership, Finance, and Executive teams.
Perform regular tenant data audits to identify configuration gaps, synchronization failures,
or orphan records, driving automated data validation where possible.
Required Qualifications
Experience: Minimum 3 5 years of dedicated, hands-on Workday HCM system
administration in a mid-to-large enterprise (preferably multi-location, distributed field, or
hourly workforces).
Integrations Expertise: Proven, demonstrable track record developing, modifying, and
troubleshooting Workday integrations using EIBs, Core Connectors, and Workday Studio.
Proficiency in XSLT, XML, and Web Services APIs.
Security & Governance: Solid understanding of Workday security groups (role-based, user[1]based, intersection), business process definitions, and supervisory organization structures.
Cutover / In-Sourcing Mindset: Comfort stepping into a tenant built or maintained by a
third-party vendor, conducting technical discovery, and establishing internal runbooks.
Problem-Solving & Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to translate
complex technical constraints into clear, pragmatic solutions for non-technical HR and
business leaders.
