Pay Range: $20 - $23/hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule: Mon-Fri, General working hours
- Greet patients and assist with the check-in and check-out process
- Complete patient registration and scheduling in accordance with established system guidelines
- Scan and upload patient forms, identification, and insurance cards into the appropriate EHR files
- Collect applicable co-pays, co-insurance, and other patient payments
- Process self-pay patients according to established procedures
- Assist with patient processing for Telehealth appointments, when applicable
- Answer incoming telephone calls and appropriately redirect calls or document messages within the EHR
- Verify insurance eligibility using automated verification systems for all applicable payers
- Assist patients with enrollment and access to the Patient Portal
- Support medical records and referral department processes as needed
- Maintain accurate and complete patient information in accordance with established procedures
- Perform other duties and administrative tasks as assigned
Key Requirements and Technology Experience:
- Must have skills: EHR/EMR Experience
- Insurance Eligibility Verification
- Patient Registration & Scheduling
- 1-3 years of experience in a medical reception, healthcare administration, or similar role
- Experience working with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
- Ability to read, write, and understand medical terminology
- Knowledge of insurance eligibility and verification processes
- Strong computer skills and ability to learn and navigate healthcare systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain accuracy, professionalism, and confidentiality when handling patient information
- Education: High School Diploma or GED
