Job Description:
We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer with strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, microservices, API development, Kafka, and AWS cloud services. The ideal candidate will be highly experienced in building REST APIs from scratch and developing new backend applications in a cloud-based environment.
This role is heavily focused on backend development, with approximately 10% front-end work using React. Candidates must have hands-on experience with AWS services, including S3, Lambda, ECS, and EC2, as well as Docker and Kubernetes. We are looking for a self-driven senior developer who can work independently, take ownership of deliverables, and communicate effectively with technical and business teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture.
Build REST APIs from scratch, including API design, implementation, integration, testing, and documentation.
Develop new applications and services without relying on existing codebases or APIs.
Implement event-driven integrations and messaging solutions using Kafka.
Build, deploy, and manage cloud-native applications using AWS services, including S3, Lambda, ECS, and EC2.
Work with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and container orchestration within the AWS environment.
Develop and maintain React-based front-end components as needed, accounting for approximately 10% of the role.
Monitor application performance and troubleshoot issues using tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, and Grafana.
Follow software engineering best practices for code quality, scalability, reliability, security, and performance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions independently.
Take ownership of technical decisions, development activities, and project deliverables.
Required Qualifications:
6+ years of professional software development experience; 8+ years preferred.
Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, microservices, APIs, and Kafka.
Proven experience designing and building REST APIs from scratch.
Strong experience with AWS services, particularly S3, Lambda, ECS, and EC2.
Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes in containerized application environments.
Experience developing and deploying backend services in cloud environments.
Basic to intermediate React experience for limited front-end development.
Ability to work independently, take ownership, and solve complex technical problems.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams and stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
8+ years of software development experience.
Experience with Splunk, Dynatrace, or Grafana for monitoring and observability.
Experience with cloud-native architecture, distributed systems, and event-driven applications.
Strong technical decision-making and independent problem-solving skills.
