Job Description
We are seeking a Software Engineering - Full Stack Developer - Advanced to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Java/Spring Boot, React/TypeScript, AWS, Kafka, SQL, and observability and a proven ability to design, build, secure, and operate scalable full-stack systems in production.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and operate backend services using Java and Spring Boot with high reliability and performance.
- Build responsive React and TypeScript frontends with robust state management, routing, and accessibility.
- Develop and manage Kafka-based event streaming solutions, including topics, schemas, and consumers.
- Design OpenAPI-first REST APIs with versioning, idempotency, and consistent error handling.
- Implement secure authentication and authorization with Spring Security and OAuth2/OIDC.
- Model data with JPA, tune queries, and implement resilient transactions and pagination.
- Deploy and operate workloads on AWS using ECS, EC2, RDS/Aurora, S3, SQS/SNS, and CloudWatch.
- Create infrastructure as code using Terraform or CloudFormation/CDK with environment promotion.
- Establish observability with structured logging, metrics, tracing, dashboards, and actionable alarms.
- Drive quality through automated testing, performance testing, and secure SDLC practices.
- Contribute to runbooks, on-call readiness, and postmortems with preventative actions.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 7+ years of hands-on full-stack development as an individual contributor.
- Expertise in Java, OOP and functional patterns, concurrency, collections, and performance profiling, including thread and heap dump analysis.
- Advanced Spring Boot including controllers, validation, exception handling, filters, interceptors, content negotiation, file streaming, and async processing.
- Spring Data/JPA with entity modeling, transactions, isolation levels, pagination, and query tuning, including N+1 mitigation and projections.
- Spring Security with OAuth2/OIDC, method-level security, CORS/CSRF, and secure token/session handling.
- Kafka design and operations including topics, partitions, producers/consumers, consumer groups, Avro schemas, Kafka Connect/Streams, ACLs/TLS, and monitoring/tuning.
- API integration with resilient clients, including timeouts, retries, circuit breakers, and request signing when required.
- Frontend React and TypeScript, component design, hooks, state management, routing, forms, and client-side error handling with robust data fetching and caching.
- Testing proficiency: JUnit 5, Mockito, Spring test slices, Testcontainers, React Testing Library, and e2e basics with Cypress or Playwright.
- AWS experience shipping production workloads with ECS, EC2 autoscaling, VPC, subnets, security groups, NACLs, S3, RDS/Aurora Postgres, DynamoDB awareness, SQS/SNS, CloudWatch, and Splunk.
- IAM roles and policies, least-privilege design, cross-account access, and secrets management patterns.
- Infrastructure as code with Terraform or CloudFormation/CDK, parameterization, environment promotion, and drift awareness.
- Containerization with Docker, multi-stage builds, health checks, and resource limits.
- SQL expertise with indexing, query plans, joins, transactions, and end-to-end tuning for slow queries.
- Migrations using Flyway or Liquibase with zero-downtime patterns.
- Caching with Redis, TTL design, stampede prevention, and invalidation strategies.
- Observability with structured logging and correlation IDs, metrics and SLOs, OpenTelemetry tracing, and actionable alarms.
- Security-first mindset including RBAC/ABAC, least privilege in app and AWS IAM, SAST/dependency scanning, and secure secrets handling without code or log exposure.
Preferred Skills:
- API contract testing with Pact and performance testing with load tools.
- Experience with Terraform as primary IaC and CD pipelines with environment promotion.
