Genesis10 is currently seeking a Help Desk Support Specialist for a contract position with a Regional Financial Institution located in Dallas, TX. This is a contract opportunity. This role provides comprehensive end-user and network support for all software applications, hardware, and software installations. The specialist will handle upgrades, patches, and data backup and recovery procedures within a financial services environment, ensuring compliance with all policies and regulations.
Responsibilities: - Diagnose and resolve end user hardware and software issues in a timely and courteous manner
- Provide technical guidance to end users utilizing non-technical terminology
- Log and maintain detailed records regarding customer inquiries and related solutions
- Properly escalate unresolved issues to the next level of support
- Perform administration of Windows Server, Desktop Operating Systems Windows 7, Windows 10, Microsoft Office, Exchange 2010 and higher, Office 365, Photoshop, network switches, and routers
- Perform data backup, recovery, and testing in a tightly controlled environment
- Document network and data workflow using Visio or other graphical tools
- Manage firewall and other security systems, remote access VPN, 2-factor authentication, IDS/IPS, and monitoring tools
- Support, design, and administer LAN and WAN topologies, carrier circuits, MPLS, and internet
- Install, configure, and manage virtual technologies, VMWARE, VSPHERE, VCENTER, ESXi
- Install, configure, and maintain server, appliance, switch, and router hardware in a secure data center
- Assure compliance with all client policies, procedures and processes, and all applicable state and federal banking laws, rules, and regulations
Requirements: - High school diploma
- 1-2 years of experience in a similar role
- Prior experience supporting a bank or financial institution
- Understanding of information security systems, policies, procedures and compliance as it applies to technology systems, employees, and third parties
- Proficient problem resolution and root cause analysis skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
Desired skills: - Associate's or Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline
- ITIL familiarity is a plus
