Job DescriptionThe Master Data Specialist enters, maintains, and updates customer, contract, and pricing data within company systems to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance. This role supports billing, pricing, and operational teams by managing master data, validating information, and resolving discrepancies. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to a critical function within a growing business unit, work cross-functionally with operations, sales, and finance, and participate in process improvement initiatives that enhance data integrity and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities- Enter, maintain, and update customer, contract, and pricing data within company systems with a high degree of accuracy.
- Set up and manage customer pricing agreements and contract terms in alignment with company policies and procedures.
- Monitor pricing accuracy across systems and reports, and promptly investigate and resolve discrepancies as they arise.
- Perform routine audits and reconciliations of master data to ensure data integrity and consistency across platforms.
- Research and resolve missing, inaccurate, or incomplete information in customer, contract, and pricing records.
- Validate data prior to entry to ensure compliance with internal controls, procedures, and applicable SOX-related processes.
- Support billing, pricing, and operational teams by responding to master data requests and providing accurate information.
- Perform basic mathematical calculations related to pricing structures, volume, and load measurements to support accurate pricing and billing.
- Generate, review, and interpret reports using Microsoft Excel to identify issues, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
- Assist with process improvement initiatives focused on enhancing data accuracy, standardizing procedures, and increasing operational efficiency.
- Adhere to internal controls and compliance requirements, including SOX-related processes when applicable, and escalate issues as needed.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in operations, sales, and finance to ensure alignment and resolve data-related issues.
- Manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively while meeting deadlines and maintaining high quality standards.
Essential Skills- Minimum 2+ years of experience in data entry, master data management, billing, pricing administration, contracts administration, or a related role.
- Proven ability to maintain high levels of accuracy and strong attention to detail in data-related work.
- Experience reconciling data and identifying discrepancies across systems or reports.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including basic formulas and data manipulation.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Effective problem-solving skills to investigate and resolve data issues and discrepancies.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally with operations, sales, finance, and other teams.
- Familiarity with internal controls and compliance-oriented processes, including SOX-related activities, as applicable.
- Comfort working with numerical data and performing basic mathematical calculations related to pricing and volumes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Experience within construction, building materials, manufacturing, concrete, ready-mix, block, logistics, or related industries.
- Exposure to SOX controls and compliance, including understanding of documentation and adherence to control requirements.
- Experience working with pricing, contracts, customer master data, or ERP systems.
- Interest in participating in process improvement initiatives focused on data quality and operational efficiency.
- Desire to work in a stable organization with strong processes and established operations.
