Description
We are looking for a Systems Engineer to support and enhance Microsoft 365 operations for a Financial Services environment in New York, New York. This Long-term Contract position focuses on advanced issue resolution, platform administration, and governance support across key collaboration and compliance technologies. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical judgment, clear documentation skills, and the ability to partner with support teams to maintain a stable and well-managed M365 ecosystem.
Responsibilities:
Provide advanced technical support for complex Microsoft 365 incidents, driving investigation and resolution for high-level service issues.
Act as an escalation point for frontline support teams, offering guidance and hands-on assistance for problems requiring deeper technical expertise.
Develop and maintain operational procedures, knowledge base content, and technical reference materials to improve support consistency and team efficiency.
Help administer and strengthen governance practices across Microsoft 365 services, including SharePoint, Teams, Power Platform, Copilot, Purview, and AvePoint.
Track Microsoft service communications such as Message Center updates and Service Health notices to identify risks, outages, or required follow-up actions.
Oversee tenant-level administrative tasks and assist with licensing management to support access, compliance, and platform readiness.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to promote reliable system performance and effective use of Microsoft collaboration and productivity tools.
Requirements
Hands-on experience supporting Microsoft 365 in an engineering or senior support capacity.
Strong working knowledge of Active Directory and Azure Active Directory administration.
Experience managing Windows Server environments and related infrastructure services.
Familiarity with Microsoft Exchange administration and troubleshooting.
Exposure to Citrix technologies within enterprise support environments.
Ability to create clear technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and support knowledge articles.
Proven skill in analyzing escalated issues, identifying root causes, and delivering effective resolutions.
