Position: Sr AWS Migration
Duration:; Contract
Role Summary
We are looking for a **Senior AWS Migration Specialist** to serve as the **onshore technical SPOC** for complex infrastructure and application migration initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with **AWS, AWS Outposts, migration strategy, capacity planning, hybrid cloud architecture, and large-scale data center/cloud transformations**.
Key Responsibilities
* Serve as the primary **onshore technical SPOC** for migration programs.
* Lead end-to-end workload and infrastructure migration planning and execution.
* Design hybrid cloud solutions leveraging **AWS and AWS Outposts**.
* Perform detailed **capacity planning, sizing, forecasting, and resource optimization**.
* Assess existing environments and develop migration strategies and wave plans.
* Define target-state cloud and hybrid infrastructure architectures.
* Lead application/workload discovery, dependency mapping, and migration assessments.
* Determine appropriate migration approaches, including **Rehost, Replatform, and Refactor**.
* Coordinate with offshore engineering, infrastructure, application, networking, and security teams.
* Identify migration risks, dependencies, constraints, and remediation requirements.
* Develop migration runbooks, cutover plans, rollback strategies, and validation plans.
* Provide technical leadership during migration execution and production cutovers.
* Troubleshoot complex migration, infrastructure, performance, and capacity issues.
* Work closely with customer architects and senior stakeholders on technical decisions.
* Establish cloud migration standards, governance, and architecture best practices.
Required Skills
* Strong hands-on experience with **AWS Cloud and AWS Outposts**.
* Experience leading **large-scale cloud and data center migrations**.
* Strong understanding of **hybrid cloud architecture**.
* Expertise in **capacity planning, infrastructure sizing, forecasting, and optimization**.
* Experience with workload discovery, dependency mapping, and migration assessments.
* Strong knowledge of AWS migration methodologies and strategies.
* Experience developing migration wave plans, runbooks, cutover plans, and rollback strategies.
* Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
* Ability to coordinate effectively with **onshore and offshore teams**.
* Experience working with enterprise infrastructure, networking, security, and application teams.
Migration Strategies
Candidates should have experience with one or more of the following:
* **Rehost (Lift & Shift)**
* **Replatform**
* **Refactor / Re-architect**
* Workload modernization
* Data center transformation
* Hybrid cloud migration
