Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a technical SME for Microsoft 365 migration projects, including tenant-to-tenant and Active Directory-to-M365 migrations.
  • Develop and execute migration strategies for mailboxes, distribution groups, public folders, calendars, and other M365 workloads.
  • Utilize migration tools such as Quest On Demand Migration (ODM) or BitTitan MigrationWiz to plan and execute migrations.
  • Lead Microsoft Entra ID migration and restructuring activities, including identity consolidation, domain changes, and hybrid identity configurations.
  • Set up, configure, and manage Quest ODM migration environments.
  • Develop and execute coexistence, synchronization, and cutover strategies to ensure a seamless user experience.
  • Migrate Microsoft 365 workloads including Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive to the target environment.
  • Troubleshoot and provide root cause analysis for directory synchronization issues, mail-flow problems, authentication failures, and hybrid identity errors.
  • Configure and troubleshoot mail connectors, transport rules, DNS records, and Microsoft 365 mail-flow components.
  • Ensure security, compliance, and identity governance requirements are maintained throughout migration activities.
  • Collaborate with security, network, infrastructure, and support teams to resolve migration-related issues.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, migration plans, runbooks, implementation procedures, and knowledge-transfer materials.
  • Provide technical support to users and IT teams during and after migration activities.
  • Support transition and handoff activities to the steady-state support team or client IT organization.
  • Assist with user adoption, change management, communications, and training activities as required.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience performing technical migrations and/or client support operations.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 administration and migration projects.
  • Experience with tenant-to-tenant and/or Active Directory-to-Microsoft 365 migrations.
  • Strong understanding of SMTP, mail flow, connectors, DNS, MX, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, and Exchange Online transport rules.
  • Proficiency with PowerShell scripting for managing and migrating users, groups, mailboxes, and directory objects.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, hybrid identity, SSO, and federation.
  • Understanding of authentication and authorization protocols including OAuth, SAML, and related identity technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience successfully delivering Microsoft 365 migration projects for enterprise or client environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft certifications such as MS-102, MS-700, or related Microsoft 365 certifications.
  • Hands-on experience with Quest On Demand Migration (ODM) and/or BitTitan MigrationWiz.
  • Experience with tenant-to-tenant migrations and domain re-homing.
  • Experience migrating Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Experience with hybrid Exchange and hybrid identity environments.
  • Experience supporting migration-to-steady-state transition and knowledge transfer.
  • Exposure to user adoption strategies, change management, and technical training.
  • Experience working in regulated industries or large enterprise environments with complex or multi-tenant Microsoft 365 environments.
