- Write and refine SQL queries to extract, join, filter, and analyze data from relational databases to support report creation and validation.
- Validate report results through reconciliation, exception checks, and stakeholder review, documenting assumptions and definitions to reduce future ambiguity.
- Elicit reporting requirements by interviewing business users, clarifying metrics and definitions, and translating needs into report layouts, logic, and acceptance criteria.
- Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, including explaining data limitations, root causes, and resolution steps.
- Drive continuous improvement of reporting processes, including standardizing report logic, improving performance where possible, and reducing manual effort.
- Learn and apply emerging reporting technologies as needed, supporting a transition from legacy reporting approaches toward cloud-based BI and analytics.
Required Skills:
- 3+ years of hands-on experience creating, modifying, maintaining, and troubleshooting business or operational reports, with a strong understanding of data sources, report logic, and reporting deliverables.
- Practical SQL and relational database reporting experience, including the ability to extract, filter, join, analyze, and validate data used in reports.
- Demonstrated ability to gather requirements from business stakeholders, translate business needs into usable reports, and resolve reporting issues through clear communication.
- Proven technical adaptability and initiative, with a track record of learning new reporting technologies and supporting modernization from legacy reporting toward cloud-based BI and analytics.
