Lead Salesforce Developer Service Cloud, LWC & Integrations

You will serve as a senior technical voice for the program, working closely with developers, architects, business stakeholders and technology leadership to deliver secure, scalable and maintainable Salesforce solutions.
Project or Role Overview
The Lead Salesforce Developer will support a Salesforce CRM environment used by a statewide enterprise contact-center program.
The role will provide hands-on development for crisis-call workflows while also owning key technical aspects of the Salesforce environment, including solution design, integrations, authentication, data migration, source control, release management, development standards and transition to ongoing Maintenance and Operations.
The environment includes Salesforce Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Salesforce Lightning, Apex, Lightning Web Components, SFDX, REST APIs, OAuth and Azure DevOps-based CI/CD.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test and deliver Salesforce solutions supporting critical contact-center and crisis-call workflows.
- Translate business requirements and user stories into secure, scalable technical solutions.
- Write and maintain Apex classes, Apex triggers, Visualforce pages, Aura components and Lightning Web Components.
- Implement declarative solutions using Salesforce Flow and other configuration capabilities when appropriate.
- Participate in each phase of the Salesforce implementation and development lifecycle.
- Work with customers, end users and internal teams to define technical requirements.
- Confirm that technical requirements align with business requirements, performance goals and long-term platform strategy.
- Own technical delivery for enhancements, releases and updates to existing applications and code.
- Take technical responsibility for applicable Salesforce environments and development activities.
- Define, document and maintain Salesforce development standards and guidelines.
- Help ensure that developers follow approved technical, coding, security and deployment standards.
- Review proposed solutions for scalability, maintainability, security and platform alignment.
- Design technical architectures spanning Salesforce, cloud applications, on-premises systems and third-party platforms.
- Develop and support integrations using standard and custom REST and SOAP APIs.
- Implement authentication and authorization solutions, including OAuth and Single Sign-On.
- Develop and support Batch Apex and Scheduled Apex processes.
- Lead technical aspects of Salesforce data migration, data quality and reconciliation.
- Support integration of AppExchange products and third-party applications.
- Define and manage technical change, release and deployment processes.
- Support SFDX development, source control, branch management, code merging and deployment.
- Use Azure DevOps or comparable tools to support work tracking, build pipelines, CI/CD and release management.
- Coordinate with developers and technical teams supporting other enterprise systems.
- Identify and communicate technical risks, issues, dependencies and recommended mitigation.
- Ensure solutions align with applicable security guidelines and standards throughout the application lifecycle.
- Communicate complex technical strategies and decisions to technical and executive stakeholders.
- Develop a technical training and transition plan to support successful transfer into Maintenance and Operations.
- Mentor developers and help strengthen overall team capability.
- Work independently and effectively within changing priorities and delivery deadlines.
Required Qualifications
- At least 6 years of strong Salesforce development experience.
- At least 4 years of hands-on Salesforce platform development using:
- Apex
- Visualforce
- Lightning Web Components
- Aura
- HTML5
- JavaScript
- At least 5 years of experience working with Salesforce Service Cloud and/or Health Cloud.
- At least 3 years of hands-on Salesforce Lightning experience, including Lightning Web Components.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with SFDX and the Salesforce development lifecycle.
- Strong working knowledge of Salesforce Service Cloud.
- Experience participating in full-lifecycle Salesforce implementations.
- In-depth understanding of Salesforce platform capabilities, limits and constraints.
- Experience implementing programmatic and declarative Salesforce solutions.
- Experience developing Salesforce Flows and using other configuration-based automation.
- Hands-on experience integrating Salesforce with cloud and on-premises applications.
- Experience designing and developing standard and custom REST API integrations.
- Experience with web services, including REST, SOAP, JSON and XML.
- Experience with core web technologies, including HTML5 and JavaScript.
- Hands-on experience implementing OAuth or comparable authentication protocols.
- Experience implementing Batch Apex and/or Scheduled Apex.
- Experience supporting data migration, data quality, systems integration and custom development.
- Experience supporting source control, branching, merging and code deployments.
- Ability to design secure and high-performing Salesforce solutions.
- Ability to document technical architecture and integration designs.

- Hands-on experience with Salesforce Experience Cloud.

- At least 2 years of experience with API integrations and Single Sign-On implementations.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps or a comparable platform for requirements tracking, CI/CD and release management.
- Experience building or maintaining Azure DevOps deployment pipelines for Salesforce.
- Experience with data-migration and cloud-integration initiatives.
- Experience with Conga.
- Experience with Drawloop.
- Experience within government, public-sector, healthcare, behavioral-health, crisis-services or another regulated environment.
- Familiarity with FedRAMP-compliant tools and environments.
- Experience preparing development teams and documentation for transition into Maintenance and Operations.
