· Must demonstrate the ability to independently challenge a system integrator, coordinate multidisciplinary technical teams, and drive accountability without assuming day to day project management responsibilities.
Accountability Boundary:
The consultant provides architecture leadership, independent technical assurance, vendor oversight, and escalation management. Product scope/prioritization remains with Product Management; engineering execution with the Engineering Lead; schedule/budget tracking with the PM; and contractual approvals, funding decisions, and executive authority with BJ’s Technology Leaders.
Own end to end architecture oversight for SAP BTP, Incture’s Cherrywork technology, SAP ECC, integrations, security and data flows; challenge solution design, lay out customization and design choices and architectural tradeoffs.
Provide input to BJs internal lead managing the SI relationship; independently validate delivery plans, estimates, milestones, staffing, resource quality, dependencies, and adherence to contracted scope.
Platform team alignment, bridging potential gaps with SAP, BTP, Basis, Security, Integration, Infrastructure and Enterprise Architecture teams; secure independent validation and technical checks and balances on Incture delivery.
Coordinate independent review of architecture, FS/TS, NFRs, interfaces, mapping sheets, and technical deliverables; work with Platform team to understand compliance, identify deficiencies and recommend acceptance to designated BJ’s approvers.
Partner with Product, Business, Engineering and PMO across vendor onboarding, BP management, article management, and cost management; resolve technical interdependencies without taking over their functional ownership.
Identify and challenge technical, integration, vendor, and delivery risks; validate mitigation plans; escalate material blockers to BJ’s IT VP/SVP and governance bodies when required.
Oversee SIT/UAT support, cutover, go-live and hypercare; validate security, production readiness, critical defects, knowledge transfer, and supportability.
Scrutinize scope delivery, change requests; distinguish in-scope clarification from new capabilities; advise BJ’s
