Job Summary :
We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst with strong domain expertise in Front Office operations and Derivatives along with solid knowledge of Data Warehouse concepts, Data Modelling, and SQL. The ideal candidate will act as a bridge between business stakeholders, front office users, technology teams, and data teams to gather, analyze, and document requirements for trading, risk, reporting, and data platform initiatives.
This role requires a strong understanding of financial products, trading workflows, and derivatives lifecycle events, combined with the ability to work on data-centric initiatives, including warehouse design, data analysis, reconciliation, and reporting solutions.
Key Responsibilities :
- Work closely with Front Office stakeholders, traders, risk teams, operations, and technology teams to gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements.
- Translate business needs into clear functional specifications, process flows, use cases, and user stories.
- Analyze derivatives products and workflows, including trade capture, lifecycle events, valuation, settlements, and reporting requirements.
- Support projects involving front office systems, trading platforms, risk systems, and downstream data platforms.
- Collaborate with data engineering and architecture teams on data warehouse initiatives, ensuring business requirements are accurately reflected in data solutions.
- Define and document source-to-target mappings, business rules, and data transformation logic.
- Apply data modelling concepts to support reporting, analytics, and enterprise data initiatives.
- Perform data analysis using SQL to validate requirements, investigate issues, reconcile data, and support testing activities.
- Identify gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities for process or data quality improvements.
- Support UAT, SIT, and business validation testing, including test case creation and defect triage.
- Work with stakeholders to ensure alignment between business processes, regulatory requirements, and system capabilities.
- Assist in the design and implementation of reporting and analytical solutions for trading and derivatives data.
- Facilitate workshops, stakeholder meetings, and requirement review sessions.
- Produce high-quality documentation including BRDs, FRDs, process maps, data dictionaries, and functional specifications.
Required Qualifications :
- 8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in capital markets or investment banking environments.
- Strong experience working with Front Office business users and trading-related systems.
- Solid knowledge of Derivatives products such as futures, options, swaps, forwards, and related lifecycle processes.
- Strong understanding of Data Warehouse concepts, including ETL/data flow, historical data storage, reporting layers, and reconciliation.
- Good knowledge of Data Modelling concepts, including logical and physical data models, entity relationships, and data mapping.
- Strong hands-on experience with SQL for data analysis, querying, validation, and troubleshooting.
- Proven ability to gather, document, and manage complex business and functional requirements.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams including business, technology, QA, and data teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and work in a fast-paced delivery environment.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience with trade lifecycle, P&L, risk, market data, or regulatory reporting projects.
- Familiarity with data governance, data quality, and reference data management concepts.
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies.
- Experience working with financial data marts, reporting platforms, or enterprise warehouse programs.
- Exposure to BI/reporting tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
- Understanding of capital markets regulations and reporting requirements is a plus.
