Senior Business Analyst

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst with 13+ years of experience in business analysis, requirements gathering, process improvement, stakeholder management, and solution delivery. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of business processes and technology and will work closely with business stakeholders, product owners, project managers, architects, developers, and QA teams to deliver effective technology solutions.

The candidate should be highly skilled in analyzing complex business requirements, documenting functional specifications, facilitating stakeholder discussions, and translating business needs into actionable technical requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead business analysis activities throughout the complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand business objectives, challenges, and requirements.
• Conduct requirements gathering, elicitation, analysis, validation, and documentation.
• Facilitate workshops, interviews, brainstorming sessions, and requirement walkthroughs.
• Translate business requirements into detailed functional and non-functional requirements.
• Create and maintain:
  • Business Requirements Documents (BRD)
  • Functional Requirements Documents (FRD)
  • Business Process Documents
  • User Stories
  • Use Cases
  • Process Flow Diagrams
  • Functional Specifications
  • Acceptance Criteria
• Work closely with Product Owners and stakeholders to define and prioritize requirements.
• Analyze existing business processes and identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
• Perform As-Is and To-Be process analysis.
• Create process models, workflows, data flows, and business process diagrams.
• Collaborate with development and QA teams to ensure requirements are correctly implemented.
• Review technical solutions and provide business/functional clarification to development teams.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by developing test scenarios, reviewing test cases, and coordinating business users.
• Validate delivered functionality against approved requirements.
• Manage requirement changes and assess their impact on scope, timelines, and business processes.
• Track requirements throughout the project lifecycle using requirements traceability matrices (RTM).
• Identify dependencies, risks, gaps, and potential business impacts.
• Facilitate communication between business and technical teams.
• Prepare presentations, reports, dashboards, and status updates for stakeholders and leadership.
• Provide support during implementation, deployment, and post-production activities.

Required Skills

• 13+ years of experience as a Business Analyst / Senior Business Analyst.
• Strong experience in requirements gathering and analysis.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Strong experience creating BRD, FRD, user stories, use cases, and functional specifications.
• Experience with As-Is / To-Be process mapping.
• Strong knowledge of SDLC and software development methodologies.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum and Waterfall methodologies.
• Strong understanding of functional and non-functional requirements.
• Experience working with cross-functional technical and business teams.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Experience with UAT planning and execution.
• Strong documentation and presentation skills.

Agile & Scrum Experience

• Work closely with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, developers, and QA teams.
• Participate in Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
• Create and refine user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Maintain and prioritize product/project backlogs.
• Participate in backlog grooming and requirement refinement sessions.
• Support sprint-level planning and delivery.
• Ensure business requirements are clearly understood by development teams.

Business Process Analysis

• Analyze current business processes and identify inefficiencies.
• Develop As-Is and To-Be process models.
• Identify process gaps and recommend improvements.
• Document business workflows and business rules.
• Evaluate opportunities for automation and technology enhancements.
• Conduct impact analysis for proposed business changes.
• Support continuous process improvement initiatives.

Data & Technical Skills

• Experience working with databases and writing basic-to-advanced SQL queries.
• Ability to perform data analysis, validation, and reconciliation.
• Understanding of APIs, web services, system integrations, and data flows.
• Experience creating data flow diagrams and system interaction diagrams.
• Familiarity with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform is a plus.
• Understanding of enterprise applications and integration architectures.
• Experience with reporting and visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau is a plus.

• Act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams.
• Independently manage complex requirements and business analysis activities.
• Provide functional leadership for large-scale projects.
• Mentor junior and mid-level Business Analysts.
• Review requirements and ensure they are complete, consistent, and testable.
• Identify risks, dependencies, assumptions, and gaps.
• Participate in solution design discussions with architects and technical leads.
• Lead stakeholder meetings and requirement workshops.
• Provide recommendations based on business analysis and data-driven insights.
• Ensure solutions align with business objectives and organizational strategy.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
• MBA or relevant advanced degree is a plus.
• CBAP, PMI-PBA, or similar Business Analysis certification is a plus.
• Experience working in large enterprise environments.
• Experience in financial services, healthcare, insurance, retail, telecom, or other regulated industries is preferred.
