Workday Payroll Configuration Consultant- United states- Remote

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Workday Payroll Consultant with strong expertise in Workday Payroll configuration and payroll operations support. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience configuring payroll components, managing payroll-related data through EIBs, troubleshooting payroll calculations, and supporting payroll processing activities. This role requires a solid understanding of payroll best practices, taxation, benefits, deductions, and payroll auditing within the Workday ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure and maintain Workday Payroll components, including earnings, deductions, pay components, and payroll codes.
• Configure new payroll codes and ensure compliance with organizational and statutory requirements.
• Create, load, and maintain Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB) integrations for mass payroll transactions, including pay inputs, costing allocations, and data updates.
• Troubleshoot payroll calculation issues and resolve payroll processing discrepancies.
• Support payroll operations teams by providing guidance on payroll processing best practices and resolving configuration-related issues.
• Configure and maintain payroll taxation, retirement benefit plans, deductions, and other payroll elements.
• Perform payroll audits and validations to ensure payroll accuracy before final processing.
• Analyze payroll issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
• Collaborate with HR, Finance, and cross-functional teams to support payroll implementations, enhancements, and system improvements.
• Participate in Workday releases, testing, regression testing, and deployment of payroll enhancements.
• Develop and maintain documentation for payroll configurations, business processes, and operational procedures.
• Ensure compliance with payroll regulations, internal policies, and data governance standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 5+ years of overall HRIS/Payroll experience with strong expertise in Workday Payroll.
• Hands-on experience configuring Workday Payroll components and business processes.
• Strong experience with Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB) for mass data uploads and integrations.
• Solid understanding of payroll calculations, earnings, deductions, taxation, retirement benefits, and payroll costing.
• Experience troubleshooting payroll calculation and configuration issues.
• Strong knowledge of payroll auditing, reconciliation, and payroll validation processes.
• Experience supporting payroll operations and providing functional guidance to payroll teams.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Workday Payroll Certification is highly preferred.
• Experience supporting global payroll environments is an advantage.
• Knowledge of Workday Studio, Core HCM, Compensation, or Benefits is a plus.
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
