Note: the role is 70% Functional and 30% Technical. They are transitioning from SAP to Workday. Payroll experience is the important piece!
We are seeking an experienced Workday Payroll Technical & Functional Consultant with expertise in implementing, configuring, supporting, and optimizing Workday Payroll solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong functional knowledge of payroll processes combined with technical skills in Workday integrations, reporting, calculations, and business process configuration. The consultant will collaborate with HR, Payroll, Finance, and IT teams to ensure payroll operations are accurate, compliant, and efficient.
Experience in transition from SAP Payroll to Workday Payroll is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
Functional Responsibilities
· Gather and analyze business requirements for Payroll and Time Tracking.
· Configure Workday Payroll components including:
o Earnings
o Deductions
o Garnishments
o Taxes
o Pay Groups
o Pay Components
o Payroll Calendars
o Payroll Input
· Configure Payroll Business Processes.
· Support Payroll Parallel Testing, UAT, and production deployment.
· Configure:
o Pay Calculations
o Retro Payroll
o Off-Cycle Payroll
o Period Schedules
o Payroll Accounting
· Troubleshoot payroll calculation issues.
· Work with Benefits, Compensation, Absence, and Time Tracking teams.
· Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
· Support payroll audits and reconciliation activities.
· Perform Workday bi-annual release impact analysis.
· Create Functional Design Documents (FDDs).
· Provide production support and issue resolution.
Technical Responsibilities

· Develop XSLT transformations.
· Work with XML and XPATH.
· Support middleware platforms such as MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, or SnapLogic.
· Perform Workday tenant migrations using Object Transporter.

Qualifications
· Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Human Resources, Finance, or a related field.
· 4–10+ years of Workday experience.
· 3–7+ years of Workday Payroll implementation and support experience.
· Experience with at least one full-cycle Workday Payroll implementation.
· Experience supporting production Workday Payroll environments.
