A Day in the LifeThis role provides hands-on technical support by building, inspecting, reworking, assembling, and testing electrical hardware and subassemblies to support rapid prototyping, verification activities, and continuous improvement. The technician applies expertise with schematics, build documentation, and test methods to troubleshoot issues, drive high-quality workmanship, and ensure deliverables meet project requirements, safety expectations, and applicable procedures. The role also supports ongoing process improvements by documenting results, capturing issues found during build/test, and collaborating with engineering on corrective actions and improvements, consistent with the Engineering Tech V scope of technical support, testing/troubleshooting, and continuous improvement activities.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
- Provides technical support to engineers to achieve improvements in cycle-time, yield, unit cost, quality, safety and compliance of production and operations processes and products.
- Monitors instruments and equipment and collects operating data, including calibration, inspection, testing and repair activities, to assist in making on-line adjustments to instruments, equipment, or products.
- Analyzes and resolves malfunctions and deviations of instruments and control systems to identify and resolve problems.
- Conducts, analyses and prepares reports using metrics from salvage tracking, trending, reporting and root-cause analyses.
- Maintains process designs to optimize process, equipment and facility use while conforming to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
Required Knowledge and Experience: - Requires specialized expertise of systems, techniques, tools and procedures typically obtained through prior related work experience, training, and/or education.
- Requires 7+ years of relevant technical experience, which may include a combination of practical experience and applicable training, education, or certification.
Preferred Qualifications:- Prior Medtronic experience on surgical capital equipment
For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$82,400.00 - $123,600.00
This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others)
